The Avensi Wave Collection is our most challenging project we’ve ever developed.

It introduces a unique cup architecture that has never been successfully executed in the history of drinkware design… until now.

For thousands of years, normal cups have always been round and symmetrical. 

This standard shape makes the manufacturing methods MUCH simpler and cheaper. Traditional ceramic is rotated on a ceramic throwing wheel, while modern techniques use liquid clay poured into a mold, but these techniques don’t allow for complex internal shapes. This is why there’s never been a coffee cup that’s made to swirl and aerate effectively. 

Handcrafted in both glass & ceramic, there’s nothing similar due to the complexity of manufacturing and steps required to make this one-of-a-kind design.



At its core lies the innovation we call: Aeration Waves™.

The anatomy of the Aeration Waves™ comprises 2-pairs of specially designed divergent ridges, that aerate the flavors for a completely new experience.  

The Aeration Waves™ make this possible by forcing the coffee to follow a new flow pattern that introduces micro-bubbles as you swirl.

We set out to craft an exceptional collection that is equal parts form and function. Aesthetically, it had to capture the eyes and become an instant centerpiece to appreciate in your own ritual or gatherings among friends.

To celebrate our very first foray into espresso, we’re launching a limited edition series of hand crafted ceramic Aeresso Cups. 

It features a heftier 4mm rim, that’s common with classic espresso cups. The thicker rim spreads a thin layer of coffee over your tongue, enhancing the rich body of your espresso.

Onyx Coffee Lab is a world-renown, multi-award winning US roastery (including 2x Barista Champ, 2x Brewers Cup Champ, and Roasters Champ). Founded by Jon & Andrea Allen in 2012, they’ve quickly redefined and shaped specialty coffee culture in the USA with their exceptional coffees and commitment to quality & transparency.

This special collab features a new limited edition two-tone metallic grey glaze, hand-picked by the Onyx team and paired with their boundary re-defining coffee: Geometry. 

Geometry features two of their favorite coffees—a washed processed Ethiopian & Colombian. The Colombian gives a syrupy, clean, fermented fruit flavor. It shows itself upfront and in the finish. The washed Ethiopian adds more fruit and complexity. This blend is well loved both as a filter coffee, and as espresso.

Risks and challenges

At this stage, everything is ready to go. Our materials are sourced and our manufacturer is ready - we’re prepared to go forward with production. Of course, even with a solid plan, there is a potential of schedule risk: it is still possible that an unexpected issue may arise that causes a delay in production or an unforeseen situation with shipping like our container being delayed in customs. If anything does come up, rest assured we will make sure to communicate it immediately so you are always in the know.
